TradeWave Privacy Policy
Last updated: June 17, 2026
This Privacy Policy explains how TradeWave collects, uses, discloses, and retains information when you use the TradeWave app and related backend services.
1. Information We Collect
Account information. When you sign in with Apple or Google, we receive provider identifiers and, when provided and verified by the provider, your email address. We also store account fields you choose to add, such as username and bio.
Collection and vault data. We store the cards, sealed products, grades, quantities, acquisition details, vaults, visibility settings, sync cursors, portfolio snapshots, and related collection data you add or generate in the app.
Social and trade data. We store follows, public profile information, public vault previews, trade offers, trade item snapshots, trade status, and related activity needed to operate those features.
Scanner data. Card recognition runs on device. If you opt in to contribute scan samples, TradeWave uploads the cropped card photo from confirmed scans and the card label you confirmed. These photos are intended to show only the card, not your surroundings.
Purchase and entitlement data. For Apple in-app purchases, we store subscription entitlement status, product identifiers, transaction-related data, expiration dates, and App Store Server notification records needed to validate and maintain subscriptions.
Technical data. We collect logs, error reports, request metadata, IP-derived rate-limit information, device or app diagnostics, and similar operational data used to secure, debug, and operate TradeWave.
2. How We Use Information
We use information to create and authenticate accounts, sync collections, show portfolio values, operate public profiles and trades, validate subscriptions, secure the service, prevent abuse, debug incidents, improve recognition, communicate service changes, and comply with legal obligations.
3. Public Information
Your username, bio, follow lists, and public vault previews may be visible to other users depending on your settings and actions. Trade offers disclose item snapshots to the other trade participant. Do not make a vault public or send a trade offer if you do not want that information visible to the recipient or viewers of the public feature.
4. Scan Sample Retention and Withdrawal
If you opt in to scan-sample contribution, you can turn it off to stop future uploads. You can also unlink previously contributed samples from your account. Unlinking or deleting your account removes the account link from those samples, but the cropped photos and labels may remain as anonymized training data.
5. Sharing and Service Providers
We share information with service providers that help operate TradeWave, including Cloudflare for hosting, storage, rate limiting, and logs; Apple and Google for sign-in and purchases; Sentry or similar tools for error reporting if configured; and third-party catalog, pricing, listing, or image sources used to provide collectible market data. We do not sell personal information.
6. Security
We use technical and organizational measures designed to protect information, including OAuth login, access and refresh tokens, server-side rate limits, database constraints, and secure token storage in the app. No system is perfectly secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.
7. Retention
We retain account, collection, subscription, and activity data while your account is active and as needed to provide the service. Backups, logs, App Store records, and security records may be retained for a limited period after deletion. Anonymized scan samples may be retained as described above.
8. Your Choices
You can update profile fields and vault visibility in the app, turn scan-sample contribution on or off, unlink contributed scan samples, cancel subscriptions through Apple, sign out, or delete your account. You may contact us to request access, correction, deletion, or other privacy rights available in your location.
9. Children
TradeWave is not intended for children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child provided personal information, contact us so we can review and take appropriate action.
10. International Use
TradeWave is operated from the United States and uses service providers that may process information in the United States and other countries. By using TradeWave, you understand that information may be processed outside your location.
11. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy. If changes are material, we will provide notice in a reasonable way, such as in-app notice or an updated effective date.
